In our shop are over 12,000 carefully selected books, with the emphasis on non-fiction.
Established with catalogue sales in 1980, I am now in my 34th year as a full-time bookseller, having opened my first shop in 1990.

As one of the first on the internet with “out-of-print” books, I have been associated with
ABE Books since its inception. ABE just celebrated 25 years, and you may wish to read
about that, and me, along with a podcast interview. Here is the page with link:

My interest in books began in the late 1950s while riding my bicycle visiting antique shops on US Route 7 in Wilton, Connecticut. Those quests continued in the early 60s in my 1929 Model A Ford Roadster. In the 1970s I began collecting titles by Horatio Alger, but it was reading his, THE YOUNG BOOK AGENT, that propelled me to become (and remain) “a young book agent.”

I love getting these notes – here is one from May, 2021
Dear Ray Boas Bookseller,
I just opened my package containing “A Writer’s Eye”.   I am so over the top about this book. It is in great shape and it totally exceeds my expectations.  I think I’m suffering from an episode of Stendahl Syndrome at this point.
Thank you so much for making my day by offering this absolute treasure, and for getting it here in wonderful condition so quickly.
