Our shop in Connecticut was just a few miles from Eric Sloane's studio.  We had the opportunity to buy many books and collections over the years there from people who had known Eric, and often we found books inscribed to the owner's of those estates.   In a couple homes I saw paintings that Eric had given to the residents. I grew up in Connecticut in the 1950s and 60s where my dad was quite a collector of antique cars, particularly Model "T" Fords.  He always would tell me the story of when Eric Sloane called him saying he wanted to buy a Model "T" Ford like he had on his trip to Taos.  At that time my Dad did not have one for sale, but referred him to a friend who did.  Well, my Dad's friend instead of selling Eric the "T" traded for an original oil painting of a barn.  Well, the value of Model "T"s have gone down, and the original barn paintings have soared.

In our New Preston, Connecticut shop I could never keep Sloane's books in stock.  But I kept in my own collection a good number of Sloane books that I purchased from the New Jersey estate of one of my first customers.  I kept "Tink's" books tucked away, but have now decided to part with them, and many of them are on this page.

Here are the Sloane books (and original work) that I have in September, 2007.  If there is anything you would like to order, just let me know. Yours, RAY
