CONDITION
In describing the condition of my books I try to be conservative because I want my mail order customers to be more than pleased when they open their package. If you ever have the opportunity to visit my shop you will see that condition is very important to me, as reflected with what you see on my shelves. In reading the listings on this site, the following definitions apply:
f w/f dj --- a book that is in fine condition with a dustjacket in like condition - this is a book that is almost like a new book
vg w/vg dj --- not quite fine, but a book that is in above average used condition showing little wear. Dustjacket in this example is also described as very good
g w/g dj --- this book is listed as good with a good dustjacket. A book with average wear and use, but without any defects
EX-LIB --- a book that has been deascensioned from a public library or institution. Seldom will I stock such books, but may offer one if its content and information is of use.
BCE --- a book club edition
vg (no dj) --- a book in very good condition, but lacking the dustjacket
vg w/g dj --- a combination description, in this case a book in very good condition with a good dustjacket
g w/chipped dj --- this dustjacket in this example has some minor pieces missing, usually on the spine or extremities. Larger pieces lacking will be so described.
wraps --- a softcover book or booklet
any major defects (illustration missing, front free endpaper gone, etc.)
will always be noted, and reflected in the price.
